I have participated in one job interview in the past. After the interview, I do think about my strengths and weaknesses in my answers. For example, I stay away from my personal qualities and concentrate more on my professional traits. When I think back and I remember that I focused on my professional traits I know I was on the right path. In regards to my attire I remember wearing a long sleeve button down dress shirt, a tie, dress pants and dress shoes. My clothes compared to the interviewer were not that different because he was similarly dressed except he had a suit on. I was not too worried about the way I was dressed. My impression about the process was that I did not expect the interview to go by fast when the conversation flowed from start to finish. I also did not expect the interviewer to be friendly and kind. I thought he would be serious and get down to the point. What I learned about the organization was that in the mid 1960 it was the time that Long Island experienced an explosion of soccer programs, especially at the younger ages for both boys and girls. The soccer programs were organized and sponsored by the churches, community groups from towns, schools and clubs as intramural participation, to bring the young people together in an organized activity.

I felt like I would fit in because having a connection to soccer would allow me to understand what the organization expects from their employees. After the interview was done I went home and immediately sent out a thank you email to the organization and thanking them for giving me an opportunity for an interview. I think that people are nervous before and during an interview because you have no idea where the scene is going. Almost every aspect of the interview is out of your control. In my opinion the hardest part of an interview is how you start it because you want to start off with a good impression and you want the interviewer to see you as a potential employee right away.

Everyone has at least participates in a job interview once in their lifetime. My experience with job interviews has been a rocky road, with each one it got better or sometimes worse if I got into my head too much. Job interviews aren’t as bad as I made them out to be. My first job interview was when I was 16; I applied to be a hostess at a restaurant. I thought the process would have been an easy one considering, but boy was I wrong.

It is crucial to take into consideration all your strengths and weaknesses after a job interview. For instance, I was strong on eye contact and sat upright. On the other hand, I lacked creativity in my answers, said um a lot, and even forgot to come up with a few questions of my own. My initial impression of the whole interviewing process was overwhelming, and I was anxious for my first one and the ones that came after. With each interview now, I am still eager but confident in myself and my abilities, which is something that I lacked back when I was younger.

One thing I can say, it’s incredibly important to know about the organization that you are applying to. What I learned over the years is having background information about any job you apply for can only be seen as a strength. Why? Because it shows that you take this job position seriously, that you are determined to work there, and you want the position. You went the extra mile, and it showed. In my opinion, with fitting in, I feel like it is more of a gut feeling, and you can’t completely rule a place out before you try it. I have not sent an email out to the interviewer after my interview thanking him/her for their time. In the near future, I will be giving that a try.

Side note; I loved the song choice, it is a classic song!

  3. I have participated in three job interviews in the past, with each interview, I was more confident and ready for then the previous interview. Out of all the interviews that I have done, I always think about how the interview went. For example, after my first interview I walked out a saw how my appearance was compared to the other applicants. I realized that I was dressed like the other applicants, so I wasn’t too worried about that. After that I thought about my strengths and weaknesses on what I did well in and what I can approve in on the next the interview I go on. When I was doing research on the companies for jobs and what positions where open, I knew that I would be the perfect fit for them because I have the experience that they are looking for.
From all the stories that I have heard about interviews, they said it is very stressful and nerve racking, but after my first interview experience, I realized that the interview process isn’t that bad. To me, you are just going to meet someone and have a conversation with them and have them ask you a few questions. From my experience, I don’t know why people get so nervous for job interviews. I mean it could be a life altering if you get a position that you always want, but there is always jobs out there. For me, the hardest part about a job interview is the anticipation going in there and getting the first question done. After that, everything is smooth sailing for me.

  4. I have never actually been on a job interview just yet in my life. However when I was younger I use to help my dad at his shop. My interview for the job I was looking for was to find the calculations to the profit we received n a daily basis. My task to prove myself was to calculate the basic receipts that we get after a cousmer asked for our services. With a little time I manged to get the right answer. My strength in this situation could be a could do basic math in my head in a short time. My weakness could be having trouble organizing everything. However from my point of view. what I learned about in this experiences is always work hard to get what you want. Doing a job at my dad shop has given me more confident in doing things. Also could help me do a real job interview.

I have participated in many interviews. I often times go on interviews just for the practice, not having the intention of accepting the job. I have gone on interviews that I’m not even remotely qualified for, just to practice answering hard questions that I have little knowledge of. Every interview I go on, I immediately look back on what I said, how I said it, what I could have said better or if I think I did everything to the best of my ability. Body language is always a concern, sitting up straight and constantly making eye contact to the point that if the interviewer does not look away, we would be staring at each other during the whole interview. I always wear a tie to interview, the idea is to dress the same as the best dressed person there. Not trying to upstage anyway but showing up as professional as possible.
My worst experience on an interview was for a waiter position. The interviewer was extremely braggadocios about his own personal accomplishments, he was the owner of the restaurant but extremely arrogant. I did the interview anyway, as it went on he was critiquing my interview skills. None of the things he said were accurate in my opinion as I had been on countless interviews prior and had conducted interviews myself in previous positions. At the end I got the position but declined it due to his personality and poor human relation skills. Being nervous is part of the process, but that’s why it’s important to prepare for it. First impression is everything and the best way I’ve found to treat an interview is to treat it as if you’re meeting your significant other’s parents for the first time.
    Also the song is killer

I have participated in one job interview in the past. After the interview, I reflected on my answers and thought about the things I can do better for the future interviews. When stating my strengths and weaknesses, I keep it professional and talk about all the things I have to offer the company. When I went to an interview, I alway dressed professionally- I wore a skirt and a nice top. The woman interviewing me was wearing something similar. She wore dress pants and a blouse. My impression of the interview was that it went by very fast. The conversation naturally flowed and as the interview went on, I felt less nervous and more comfortable.
I felt that I would fit in nicely not only because a lot of the other employees were around my age, but also because i had all the skills and requirements they were looking for. After the interview, I sent an email thanking them for taking their time to interview me. I don’t know why people get so nervous for interviews. After my interview was over, I realized that it isn't something to get stressed out about as long as you are confident in your knowledge of the company and in yourself.

I've had a few job interviews. After the interviews, I know my body language during the interview definitely showed I was nervous. Attire-wise, I wore nice clothes. Nothing to the extent of applying to for a full-time position. I've only applied to part-time jobs. Most of the interviews I've had, their process was fine and nothing to complain about. Basic questions about myself, about what I can bring to the establishment, and whatver else is usually said. My clothes of each interview were basically the same style of what was worn by the interviewers. Nice pants, solid color shirt. Of each establishment I've applied to, I learned very little about what would go on at the place. I would learn that at orientation. Initially, at my first job interview, I didn't feel like I would fit in. I was 16 at the time and never worked a job in my life. I didn't know what to expect. But, now, being that I'm 20 years old, I feel like I could fit in anywhere that I apply to knowing that I was able to fit in at my previous places of employment.

A job interview is undoubtedly the most inevitable situation you experience throughout your lifetime. If you’re expecting to get a specific job position, you have to be interviewed for it first. Thankfully, I have participated in two job interviews; both of which allowed me to gain experience for my future career. My first job interview was informal. I was dressed in my everyday clothes and spoke to my manager about my availability. Retail stores always need help, so I was not competing against anyone else to get the position. Although my first job interview allowed me to gain confidence in my speaking skills, it was the job I'm currently working at now where I had my first experience with a formal interview.

After completing the interview, I thought about everything that happened during it. As someone who tends to overthink a lot, I was second guessing almost everything I said once it was all said and done. Overall, my body language was good throughout the interview. I made sure to keep a great posture and not slouch because that would make it seem like I was uninterested in the position. I was confident in my outfit because I dressed appropriately for an office job position. Compared to the other women who were interviewing for the position, we all dressed relatively the same. They dressed a little differently because they were older than me, but we were all dressed in appropriate attire for the workplace. The interview process was slightly nerve wracking. I get nervous when I’m speaking to new people, but their positive personalities helped put me at ease.

One thing I learned about the organization after the interview was that they’re all about customer satisfaction. Since it’s the village of a specific town, the residents' happiness is what they care about the most. Having been born and raised in this town, I knew it was a job that I wanted to be a part of. I originally did not feel like I would fit in because I was the youngest in the office. Everyone ended up being really nice and they also hired another girl around my age, so we felt comfortable working with each other. I personally believe the fear of the unknown is the reason why we’re nervous during interviews. Not knowing what to expect during the interview is what causes us to be nervous of how it will end up going. The hardest part about interviewing is preparing for it because you do not know what is going to be asked of you beforehand. I am thankful enough to say that both job interviews were successful and I am looking forward to seeing how it will benefit my future career.

    Fish Bowl-The Interview

I have participated in a total of three job interviews in the past. After each one I have looked back to improve on my skills and take them more seriously. My first interview took place when I was a senior in high school and I did not take it very seriously at all. I was not prepared when I showed up for the interview in that I did not show up in the proper attire and also did not bring my resume with me. The interview was very casual in that the owner had me sit with her in the cafe and asked me a few questions about my experience, in which I had no experience, and my availability. She ended up hiring me on the spot.

The second job interview was when I was a freshman in college. I had applied for the position of an office assistant at an optometrist office. I took this interview a little more seriously than my first in that I showed up in proper clothing and this time brought my resume with me. I also knew someone working in the office who recommended me for the job. I had greeted the owner and was taken to her office where she asked me multiple questions. I answered these questions to the best of my ability and received a call back a few days later saying I had gotten the job.

My third job interview was earlier in the year and I took everything I had learned throughout past interviews with me. This included the way I dressed, my posture, the way I responded to questions, putting my resume in a folder to make it look more professional, etc. I had applied for another position of office assistant at a psychiatrist office but this time the job was a little more challenging. The office was 3 times bigger than the previous office and along with that was extremely busy. I knew I would be put up for the test and I had prepared by answering sample questions.

Many people get nervous during interviews including myself because we don't really know the exact questions that are going to be asked. Everyone wants to make a good impression. It's very important to know about the organization you are applying to in order to help you prepare.

I got my first job interview when I was fifteen years old and have had about two more since then. After each interview I had, I would sit and think about what were some strengths and weaknesses I might have had. For each of my interviews I made sure to dress nice, keep eye contact and have good posture throughout the interview. For each of my interviews I wore either dress pants or khakis and a collared shirt with dress shoes. My clothes compared to my interviewers were similar, both very professional and neat. All three of my job interviews I had were for retail stores. Since each of my jobs were in the same field, there was little to almost no change within the interviews. Many of the questions were about how well you interact with customers as well as working with a team. So by my third interview I had figured out how to answer those types of questions properly and with confidence. I was amazed at the process because of how fast the interview actually went and how they were able to get all the information they needed to see if you will be a good hire within that amount of time.
Before my interviews I would do some research to see what the company or organization is about and the types of things they sell. Each of the jobs I applied for, I already had some interests in because of what they sold and were about. Each of the job positions I did apply for, I thought I'd be a perfect fit which is why I applied. I had plenty of experience and knowledge about the companies I applied for because of my interests in life. I think many people, like myself, get nervous because we don't know what to expect. Luckily for me, my friend got me the interview for my first job and told me what to expect. After my three interviews, I have learned to speak with more confidence.

I recently went on an interview about 2 months ago and I was very worried and anxious. I was so nervous I was shaking, and I rarely get nervous about anything. I would say people maybe get nervous about interviews because they want to make sure they excel and do the best they can do. Sometimes getting an interview can be harder than the actual job. You work hard in school to meet with someone for one hour that can either make or break your entire career. It’s all about first impressions and you have to give 110% to get the job.
I personally believe that I have good communication skills, so once I am face to face with someone, I have confidence that I can excel. I do have both strengths and weakness, for example, a weakness I have is that I don’t always look people in the eye, I stare off into space sometimes, so I try to always make sure to keep eye contact. I always know how to dress and to sit up straight. I learned from a young age many of these skills from my parents.
In my recent interview it was with an architect firm, I was nervous because it was the first firm related to my major I have ever interviewed for. I made sure to dress appropriately, and to bring my resume and some recent projects I have worked on. Needless to say, the interview went very well, I spoke with both partners for almost 2 hours and they hired me on the spot. They also told me I was the tenth person they have interviewed with and they wanted me to start to work for them right away. This process was a very positive one and I felt very comfortable. I was dressed appropriately, and I felt like I could fit right into this job. I felt that my personality meshed well with the partners. I sent a thank you email the next day and since then we have been emailing and making phone calls back and forth.

I have only participated in one interview. I applied at LA fitness for a sales position. For my strengths I prepared a good resume, I was dressed up in a polo and black pants. I was wearing similar clothing as the other workers there. I was waiting for my interview for a while. It was a process. I had to talk to one of the managers at the gym and then I had an interview with the GM of LA fitness in the tri state area. I learned that this job was kind of hard because it had to do with sales and I’ve never had a job in sales. I was nervous going in because it was my first interview that I have ever done, but after its done you realize there was nothing to be nervous about in the first place. The hardest part about the interview was answering all their questions on the spot. I did not send a thank you card after the interview.

  13. The only job interviews I've gone to have been for restaurant jobs. My first one for being a hostess, I was 17 and definitely nervous because I had never worked in a restaurant before. I barely remember the interview now but I definitely dressed up for it because it was a nice restaurant the the hostesses wore dresses and heels to work. I eventually moved my way up to become a bartender at the same place about a year later so I didn't have to interview. The next few years, I worked at a couple of other bars that I met with the boss and discussed when I could work but I never really was interviews officially. I always dress nicely, maybe jeans and a nice shirt and shoes when I meet an owner for the first time. The last time I was interviewed was in August at my most recent bartending job. They basically just took me behind the bar and asked me to make a bunch of different cocktails to see if I knew how to make them.
I really don't get nervous to meet people for a job interview because I know I'm a hard worker and I'm always polite and leave a good first impression. I don't know what to expect from a job interview other than for a restaurant but I feel like most people look for future employees that are confident, sociable, and have common sense. You can have all the right answers for an interview but if you're not polite and shaking the whole time, I think that's worse than tripping up on an answer or two to one of their questions. I always make sure to make eye contact and have confident body language the whole time, I would be more nervous to do a phone interview than a face to face interview for sure.
P.S. The song was a great choice!

Fortunately all the times I have been interviewed for a job were spur of the moment, I truly believe not expecting an interview was my key to success. Having proper time to prepare for an interview would probably only lead to me overthinking and acting unnatural. People can smell fake.

Both times I have been interviewed for a job were successful so I didn’t really do much reflecting. All I remember was being able to actually feel them evaluating me. I became hyper-aware of my mannerisms as I did not want to seem too nervous. During my Whole Foods Interview they asked personal questions that I answered honestly and they seemed to enjoy my responses. My interviewer had a bunch of tattoos which reassured me that I was going to fit in nicely.

I have participated in several job interviews throughout the years and learned that each time I gain more confidence and knowledge. I think over time of having different jobs in highschool, I really built up my confidence and the ability to speak to customers and managers. My most recent interview I would say went well. I made sure I was very prepared and knew what the business was about and what my position in the company was going to be. I think this is a strength of mine, that i like to be very prepared when talking about a certain topic. Another strength of mine is wearing the appropriate attire. I enjoy picking out business conscious attire so that is not a weakness of mine. I think one of my most pressing weaknesses that I realize in all of my interviews is eye contact, my body language, and the volume of my voice. This is something i need to work on because i can tell i dont use as much eye contact as i should. I tend to be very fidgety with my hands whether it be touching my hair or touching my face. I naturally have a very low voice which i think can hinder someone's impression of me, so i need to work on raising my voice.

My impressions of the process was that my boss knew exactly what questions he was going to ask so there wasn't room for any silence or blank space where I had to think of something to say. I thought that made the interview go smoothly. I definitely dressed nicer than I needed to for the interview, but I would rather be overdressed than underdressed in a situation like this. My boss was very informative of his business and gave a clear overview of my role and what he does on a day-to-day basis. I sent a thank you note email later that afternoon of the day I went on the interview thanking him for his time and letting him know I look forward to hearing from him soon.

I think people get nervous before interviews because they want to be able to answer any question but you don't know what questions they are actually going to ask. Also, you want to present yourself in the best way possible so i think that is very nerve wracking and probably the hardest part of an interview.

I have participated in four job interviews. My first job interview was at Dairy Queen and I was 16. I was very nervous and had no idea what questions I would be asked. My brother’s worked at Dairy Queen and referred me, so I got the job right away. If I wasn’t referred by them, I don’t think I would’ve gotten the job due to my answers. I felt like I hesitated a lot to answer questions. At the restaurant that I have worked at for almost three years, I walked in with shorts and a tank top. I’m embarrassed to even write that because that isn’t at all professional of me. Luckily, I got the job and started two days after my interview. If I had to do it differently, I would at least wear pants and a nice shirt. In December, I had a job interview and I wore a more casual outfit because it was for a babysitting agency that my friend referred me to. She told me exactly what to wear. I had a final just before my interview and I was shaking until my interview. After my interview for the job agency, I thought I got the job. They seemed to like me and were saying, “okay we will email you the link to start training online.” I felt that I was confident during the interview and I didn’t hesitate. I was surprised when they told me the next day they couldn’t hire me. It was pretty upsetting because I thought I had a perfect interview and was about to get another job. I thought I would be perfect for the babysitting job. I’m very friendly with little kids and the organization I applied for, we’re mostly young college girls. I know that I am a social butterfly and I wanted the job. After they emailed me why they couldn’t hire me, I found out from my friend that they pretty much lied for their reason for not hiring me. I thought as an organization, they could’ve been more upfront with me. I know that it isn’t the end of the world and I’ll try harder at the next interview that I will come across. I didn’t send them a thank you card for their time, but I emailed them back after they emailed me saying, “Thank you so much for interviewing me!”

People are nervous before interviews because you don’t know the outcome. All job interviews are different. As ready as you are for an interview, you have to know exactly how to respond to the person interviewing you within five seconds. In some workforces, a spot on the job is competitive. Many of us will feel nervous because we’re all competing with each other. If you get interviewed, you’re going to be compared with someone else. You must give your all and try to be the best. Sometimes when I am excited about something I get nervous. I get these little butterflies in my stomach. I can imagine someone being confident and just feeling like they got the job already before they get interviewed and that excites them.

I love this song, always gets my hyped up. It reminds me of Drake and Josh when they had a power outtage and had nothing to do. There were 50+ people in their house and they just tried to make the best of everything so they all sang this song together.

I have been on one actual job interview, but experienced two “first days of work”. Each was nerve wracking and exciting. For my job interview, it was for a hostess position at a nice, fancier steak house, much more sophisticated than my past restaurant job. After my interview I was definitely focused on things I thought I did wrong, or answers to questions I gave I didn’t think would get me the job. My body language wasn’t as confident as I would have wanted it to be, but I did think the outfit I picked out was appropriate and professional. And for a hostess position, you get to pick your outfits so being able to show I know how to dress was important. My impression was that I had to be able to deal with all customer personalities but other than that, it really was fine. My manager wasn’t rude or intimidating and there wasn’t any competition, I knew someone who worked there that got me the interview, so that was a relief. One of the main points was that I could get along with the other hostesses and that it is a very poker face position but yet a family oriented organization. Worker wise everyone is very friendly and talkative as well as helps each other when it gets busy.
I did not send a thank you card, I was asked to come in for a shift at the end of the interview and it kind of just went from there. People are definitely nervous before an interview because you just don’t want to embarrass yourself! Also feeling or knowing you might not be good enough when faced in the waiting room with competition is very intimidating. During interviews I believe people just want to be prepared and want to give the best answer they know they can give, so just overthinking everything can also lead to nervousness. The hardest part is most likely ensuring you're prepared! Being ready for any question about yourself, the position, or the company can be difficult.
And the song is awesome!! Love Queen and a lot of their songs. This is of course a popular and great one!

I have only participated in one job interview in my lifetime, and it was at Costco. The position that i was being interviewed for was a stocker. When i went to my interview, I dressed semi-casually as they instructed me to wear jeans and a button up shirt. During my interview, I was extremely nervous as it was my first interview, and I was second doubting myself alot. After the interview, I noticed my strength was that I maintain eye contact as much as I can but a weakness I knew I had was the way I was answering these questions as I used “um” alot. Other than that the interview went smoothly and i ended up getting the job in the summer and ended up fitting in nicely in the company. However I did not send a thank you note to the organization for their time.
