Dear Students,

I  hate to think that this semester is soon coming to a close. I truly enjoy this class and feel especially excited to read your proposals and discuss the feasibility report (final project) this week. We did miss a significant amount of time with all of the events that occurred over the past few weeks.

Often times, we must come to terms with circumstances that our beyond our control. Nature does have a way of running its course. As my grandmother would  say "Che Sera, Sera",  "What ever will be, will be."

I really like to provide you with a reasonable timeline so that we can plan accordingly! I found that it not only helps you as a scholar, it helps me as an educator take my students and their schedules into consideration!

Note- In-Class Project Workshop = Group Work

******Groups should get together after class and utilize google docs and wikis to communicate outside of LAB.  Your final project is worth a large percentage of your overall grade. See Syllabus

Interested in volunteering next weekend????

Here is all the info for Lindenhurst......
DISTRIBUTION CENTER IN LINDENHURST: 11/12/12 and will be there indefinitely!
The parking lot of Wellwood Grill, 722 S. Wellwood Avenue, Lindenhurst 11757 is being used indefinitely as a distribution center. They are serving hot food of all kinds (great food). They have warm clothing, blankets, supplies and lots of LOVE.
Please use this location as a drop off so they can continue their efforts there indefinitely. They need toiletries, clean-up supplies, coats, shoes and hot food in trays.
They need volunteers as well to help sort clothing and deliver to residents that have no way of knowing this is there for them. To all those asking where they can go and how they can help, this location is a great place to start!

Sunday, November 11, 2012

I hope all of you had a safe weekend.

I will not post an additional assignment. Rather, I would work on writing your proposal. Proposals are due on 11/15 at the end of lab.

Please note that after Tuesday's lecture titled Social Networking, we will begin to work on The Final Project.

Time is certainly moving fast!

See you on Tuesday!

Sunday, November 4, 2012

Dear Students,

I have been thinking about all of you and hope that you and your families have not been greatly impacted by the hurricane. I know how difficult it has been for so many including those who have lost their homes or loved ones. Let's keep them in our prayers.

Currently, I am trying to obtain gas and hope to make it to teach my classes on Tuesday 11/6. The assignment due on the 10/30 will be due on 11/6. If some of you were unable to complete the assignment it is understandable and I will do my very best to help everyone catch up on Tuesday (given I have gas to get to work). I have every intention of posting updates on our class blog if I am able to gain internet access. Presently, I do not have power at home.

Continue to check the blog for updates.

As of now (8:30pm Sunday) I will see you Tuesday.

All the Best,

Stay Safe and Warm
