Alright let us begin, while reading the article or better yet just the small statement from the article it talks about leadership. Knowing that leadership is very crucial in most events in the world. Knowing that each team needs to be led by a good leader. However every leader in the world has their own choices of becoming one. The author is trying to inform the reader of the importance of leadership in the world, and that a lot of people in the world would most probably be more successful if there was a good leader. However, every leader's goal may be different. But at least one thing in common, which is hoping their plane will be successful.
Leadership is generally important to learn about. The reason is simply because every organization in the world, rather it school, the gym, the doctors lawyers, police stations, shops in general all efficiency leaders. Which is good for their business to run correctly all a whole. But at the very least each leader has a purpose. For example, “they set out to make a difference” (Hassan 1). Being a good leader takes time, practice, and a lot of loyalty. The world in general is better because we have leadership. From my point of view, a good leader should have the following qualities. Such as, conficidence, good communication, street smarts, passion, goals, humility, hard worker and more importantly a good heart. Overall leadership is something that is very useful to any society.
Alright time to explain, the qualities that I have chosen about leadership do relate to the world we live in today. Simply because even though every leader's goals may be different, the way each leader plans to get their goals, usually involves the same kind of qualities. One thing that I was recently involved in that had to do with leadership was when doing a group project. Even though we managed to divide up the work, it took great leadership to finish it. In this case when we finished the project, we were the leader of the team, before submitting it looked it over and made corrections overall leadership is important.

  2. The article titled “Top 15 Leadership Qualities That Make Good Leaders” by Sarmad Hasan was an exceptional informative piece. Hasan went to the extent to describe every good quality of a good leader. She expanded and elaborated on all qualities and how they affect the role of being a leader. The author must be a good leader herself with having tips and advice within her article. When the author writes about Decision-Making Capabilities, she says how some leaders make decisions on their own but the overall decision they made doesn’t even affect them. “Most leaders take decisions on their own, but it is highly recommended that you consult key stakeholders before taking a decision” (Hassan 6). Her only goal of this writing is to inform young or new leaders to manage their work or responsibilities.

The author mentions multiple great traits to have as a leader but one that can be very important on its own is commitment and passion. Being a passionate worker can totally inspire your team to do their work the way you do with passion. Leaders who understand passion in their organization have tremendous opportunities for empowering and engaging their employees to meet meaningful goals. Passion without direction can be misguided, leaving managers scrambling to understand priorities. A real leader just needs to break it down a bit more. Simply go to your employees or subordinates and try and get a good idea of what makes the want to go to work, what energizes them at work, and what keeps them going when business gets busy. If a worker has to work with no passion or commitment, they aren’t going to give you their all. Passion and commitment get the most out of someone.

Good leaders never dump work on anyone. What they should do is delegate and plan strategically. Leaders should be focusing on key responsibilities while leaving the rest for others. As a leader you do overpower your group of followers but have to stay true strategic when micro-managing subordinates. It is important to delegate and empower your office, or team. The purpose of delegating tasks can be to see how one preforms or just get work done that has to be taken care of. Your team is your team to help and support you in your job, however it is important to not overdue your delegations. You may experience a lack of trust people will start having against you. It is your job as a leader to delegate tasks to your team based on their performance.

Top 15 Leadership Qualities That Make Good Leaders (2020) by Sarman Hassan

Top 15 Leadership Qualities That Make Good Leaders (2020) by Sarmad Hassan is about the 15 qualities that makes a person a good leader. It is based around the way John C Maxwell defines leadership and that is “A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way.'' (Hassan 1)The purpose of this article is to explain the 15 qualities that come together in making a good leader. The author is speaking to young individuals who hopefully one day aspire to become a good leader.

Leadership is very important because it inspires individuals to achieve a higher level of success. Good leaders inspire others to reach their potential and go up to another level of their success. People look up to leaders to guide them in the right direction. A leader is someone who motivates and supports another person. In the business world good leadership leads to long term success along with creating a positive attitude, creating productivity, and promoting good spirits.

Two significant leadership characteristics that I believe are important are accountability and being a good communicator. Accountability is being responsible for yourself and everything you do. Samard Hassan quoted “A good leader takes a little more than his share of the blame and little less than his share of the credit.” (Hassan 4) A great leader needs to make sure everyone they are managing along with themselves takes responsibility for their actions. If they are doing that then you are doing the right thing but if not a good leader should help them realize their right from wrong. When holding someone accountable for their actions you are creating responsibility. A real world example of accountability would be an employee admitting an error they made on an important project. They would take full accountability for this error. Being a good communicator is another significant quality. Hassan states “Until you communicate your vision to your team and tell them the strategy to achieve the goal, it will be difficult for you to get the results you want.” (Hassan 5-6) A good leader needs to communicate clear messages to their people. Words are very powerful in motivating people but we just need to find the right ones. An example of good communication would be a manager explaining tasks of the week and then at the end of the week having everything fully completed.

    Leadership Qualities

In the article, “Top 15 Leadership Qualities That Make Good Leaders (2020),” Sarmad Hasan states 15 qualities that will separate leaders into good leaders and bad leaders. The purpose of this article is for the readers to see how to handle things that will come their way in life. I agree when Sarmad says, “I really like the way John C Maxwell defines leadership, ‘A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way” (Hasan 1). This quote signifies that being a leader isn’t about being successful alone, it is taking your knowledge and helping others around you. The author is speaking to the reader of the article and this is shown when Sarmad Hasan constantly says, “you.” Being a good leader is important because to be a leader, you need followers. People will simply not follow a bad leader when they see that they do more harm than good in their workplace. Two leadership qualities that Sarmad mentions in the article that are significant to me are Commitment and Passion, and Resilience.

Commitment and passion are very important to be a good leader. Everyday tasks, whether small or big, a person should give their all. Sarmad Hasan says, “Your teams look up to you and if you want them to give their all, you will have to be passionate about it too” (Hasan 2). For example, I work in a place where my boss is constantly involved with her workers and her customers. She is a very successful woman that her restaurant has been around for 18 years. The commitment that she has given and showed makes us, her workers, want to do the right things and not to slack off. I recently watched, The Founder, which was about how McDonald's began. The main character in this movie, Ray Kroc, was driven and wanted nothing but success. Ray was very passionate about making McDonald's successful and that is exactly what he did. Without commitment and passion that Ray had, McDonald’s wouldn’t be the way it was today. This is also important for a good restaurant business to be successful.

Another important leadership that is very significant to be a great leader is resilience. My definition of resilience is pushing through hard times. The article says, “When the going gets tough, the tough gets going.” To me, this quote means that life goes on and there will be challenges that will always come your way. As we get older, life becomes more challenging. It is always a matter of pushing through, hoping that tomorrow will get better. Resilience is very important to me because I had a challenging childhood and I believe that it made me who I am today. For a great leader, they must stand tall on both feet no matter how challenging life gets. Subordinates seeing their boss weak at tough times will make them feel weak, too. I believe that people are allowed to be emotional and feel defeated at times. I think those good leaders know how to put a brave face so that no one feels discouraged in the workplace.

    15 Leadership Qualities

The article, “Top 15 Leadership Qualities That Make Good Leaders (2020)”, by Sarmad Hasan was very informational and interesting. The article was basically about leadership qualities that make up a good leader. The author of the article, Hasan, made plenty of quote references from some of the greatest leaders in history as well to backup his examples, some included Dwight D. Eisenhower, Steve Jobs, Jack Welch and more. The purpose of the article was to point out the key factors that could make you a good leader. Whether it is honesty & integrity, empathy, confidence, or even accountability, all of these qualities make you a good leader. In writing this article, Hasan is speaking to all of the millions of people around the world who struggle with the lack of knowledge of being a good leader.

Good leadership is very important in today’s society, especially in business. How could you run a successful business without any quality leadership? It takes a good leader to be able to make a team and encourage them to work to their best ability to keep a business and its employees running successfully. My top 2 leadership qualities from this article have to be, confidence and good communicator. I chose confidence because without this how could you lead your subordinates? If they see you are not confident in anything you do then they will never trust your plans or instincts. They will always second-guess you since you are barley confident enough to trust your own instincts. Lastly, I chose good communicator because if you don’t thoroughly communicate the plans/goals to your team how will they know how to achieve them? Like Hasan wrote in the article, “Words have the power to motivate people and make them do the unthinkable. If you use them effectively, you can also achieve better results.” Learning how to perfectly communicate all the information necessary to your team will drastically improve their work performance.

These leadership qualities relate to the world we live in because in today’s society we look for the strongest, well minded people to lead us instead of someone whose aching in fear. One of my friends told me a story similar to this when he was applying to be a manager at a car dealership. He was in competition with 2 other people who all had very clean/strong resumes as well. Paper work all looked good for the other 2 people but something stood out more in my friend then the other candidates. My friend said when he did his interview he came in with the most confidence he ever had. He communicated as much as possible and told his boss all the information he wanted to hear. Long story short, my friend ended up getting the manager position even though his resume did not look as good as the other candidates. It was his confidence, the fact that he communicated everything perfectly, and the other leadership qualities my friend possess. Being a leader is not easy, but learning how to be definitely is worth it.

The article, "Top 15 Leadership Qualities That Make Good Leaders (2020)" written by Sarmad Hasan, states 15 characteristics that would help one distinguish a good leader from an inadequate leader. The audience that the author is portraying his work too is not specified with an age group, as I feel he made it straightforward and concise for everyone of all ages to understand. This article was written for a group of individuals eager to better their individualistic qualities. In other words, it’s for people who wish to better their own leadership qualities or figure out what it takes to be an exceptional leader. The whole reasoning behind the article is to enlighten the audience better than some various attributes and characteristics go into being an outstanding leader. It's not just one quality that makes one a good leader, but many that contribute and work well together.

All 15 leadership qualities can be considered essential to becoming an excellent leader, but the two that stand out the most are resilience and empathy. Being resilient is the ability to bounce back when life gets tough. According to Hasan, “When the going gets tough, the tough get going" (5). Resilience is the key to a successful life. It allows you to either keep calm in stressful situations or if you lack resilience, then you could crumble under pressure. Without resilience, leaders wouldn't be able to bounce back after something tragic happens, which makes it challenging to find solutions when needed. Another quality that good leaders should have is empathy. Empathy can be defined as the capacity to understand or feel what another person is experiencing in their feelings or thoughts. We tend to see that most leaders choose a more authoritarian position rather than a more empathetic one. As stated in the article, "Understanding the problems of your followers and feeling their pain is the first step to becoming an effective leader." (Hasan 5). When leaders are empathetic, they are able to form closer connections with others, making relationships stronger. Therefore, resilience and empathy are outstanding qualities to have when talking about becoming an effective leader.

Leadership qualities can be found in the real world through our experiences at work, or even our own daily life. It’s not one specific quality that makes a good leader, but a set of them that help us guide others to victory. The two I feel that are most essential to becoming a good leader are resilience and having empathy. For instance, an example of resilience would be a couple of months ago; I applied to get a promotion at my job. Unfortunately, I was informed that I was not a possible candidate for it. This led to me working hard, bouncing back, and eventually landing the promotion. This shows that, when push - came to shove, I persevered, instead of allowing that to stop me, I bounced back and worked twice as hard for it. On the other hand, an example of empathy in my experience is working with clients at my job. I tend to have to be more empathetic since I work with clients that come from homelessness. Being empathetic, not only, allows the client to feel that someone cares, but helps me form better connections with them. Having good leadership qualities can be shown over all aspects of our life, they are what define the difference between a successful leader and a poor one.

This article dissects the key factors on how to be an efficient leader. Decision making, problem solving and accountability are just a few examples given in the article. The purpose is to explain the essential points in good leadership. It is imperative that a leader demonstrates each key factor explained in the article. These components will help those who may lack in certain aspects of being a good leader and can help build on those weaknesses, while honing on their strengths. Hasan speaks to every individual because these components of good leadership should be attained by everyone. Anybody can relate to the examples, whether or not they project these ideas or need to work on them. Leadership is important because it strengths management, gives followers a strong will to listen to superiors.
Confidence is one example of a good leadership trait by ‘showing assertiveness to gain the respect of your subordinates” (Hasan 2). This is extremely important for any leader to accomplish. By achieving this, a leader can gain focus and trust from their followers. “This does not mean you should be over confident, but you should at least reflect the degree of confidence required to ensure that your followers trust you as a leader” (Hasan 2). This type of thinking will gain not only trust but respect from your subordinates. Another key example in the article is Good Communicator. “If you are unable to communicate your message effectively to your team, you can never be a good leader” (Hasan 5). Having a goal is useless if it is not conveyed correctly. In any field of profession it is extremely important to have a clear understanding of how you are going to achieve a goal and relaying that goal to others in order for them to be motivated.
These leadership qualities are essential to any profession. In a band setting, creating music is a long elaborate process, having solid communication helps every member convey the message that they are trying to get across. Reading about using communication effectively in order to achieve better results is extremely true. In a real world setting it is a make or break when trying to achieve a goal and if done correctly can create enormous results.

The article titled Top 15 Leadership Qualities That Make Good Leaders (2020) by Sarmad Hassan focuses on a central theme of leadership skills. Hassan’s focus appears to be student’s and potential candidates for employment. The skills listed are all needed in order to be successful as a student, as well as in the workforce. Leadership is an important skill to have because being a leader will open more doors for people in the workforce.
“To be an effective leader, you should be confident enough to ensure that other follow your commands.” (Hassan, 2). Confidence shows that you are a strong person. Hesitation is not an attractive trait for student’s to potential employers. Confidence is learned overtime, not learned immediately. “Probably the most difficult job for a leader is to persuade others to follow.” (Hassan, 4). Persuasion is important to be an effective leader. Not everyone is going to agree with your ideas.
Personally, I have had to use confidence and persuasion to be an effective leader. Over last Summer, I was the captain of my baseball team. In order to keep the team motivated, I had to help my teammates with their hitting and fielding. What motivated them to listen to me was their success after I gave them tips. We ended up winning the championship this past fall.

The article, “15 Leadership Qualities That Make Good Leaders” by Sarmad Hassan discussed different qualities and characteristics that a person must possess to be a good leader. A good leader has a clear and achievable vision. Good leadership is ideal for a business or in life because a good leader ensures that the people around them are motivated to perform the job to their very best. A good leader builds trust and confidence in each member of his team so that they take a positive approach to the job. There are many qualities to becoming a good leader, but the most important are vision and purpose, and confidence.

To be a good leader, one must have a vision or purpose as to why they are pursuing their current goal. As said by Jack Welch, “Good business leaders create a vision, articulate the vision, passionately own the vision, and relentlessly drive it to completion”. A good leader will have a vision that they believe in and will do anything to make their goal successful. A vision is a guide for creating plans, setting goals and objectives, and making decisions on any project. Another important quality is confidence. Confidence is believing in oneself. If you are confident, people believe you, confidence will help form trust between one and their colleagues, and will help bring success. Having confidence when being a leader is crucial because without people believing in you or in your ideas, it makes it very difficult to achieve any success.

To be a good and efficient leader, one must possess a variety of different positive qualities that will help them achieve their goal of success. Two qualities that are the most important when being a leader is to have a vision and purpose and having confidence. If one has a vision they know their purpose and what it will take to complete their objective. Confidence goes a long way when being a leader because without having confidence not many people will believe in or trust your process of success.

The article "Top 15 Leadership Qualities That Make Good Leaders" by Sarmad Hasan sheds light on qualities that every good leader should have. I agree with Hasan when he says, "Irrespective of how you define a leader he or she can prove to be a difference-maker between success and failure. A good leader has a futuristic vision and knows how to turn his ideas into real-world success stories" (Hasan). I like what Hasan said because anyone can be a leader. Still, a leader can cause a company or business to fail or succeed. Employees who have a good leader will also work harder than those who have a bad leader.
Two leadership qualities that I connected to while reading the "Top 15 Leadership Qualities That Make Good Leaders" are commitment and passion and Vision and purpose. I picked commitment and passion out of the other 14 qualities because a good leader needs to be committed and passionate about the job he has to do. Hasan explains, "If they (employees) feel that you are not fully committed or lacks passion, then it would be an uphill task for the leader to motivate your followers to achieve the goal" (Hasan,4). I agree with this because if a leader lacks commitment and passion, employees will also lack commitment and passion.
"Good business leaders create a vision, articulate the vision, passionately own the vision, and relentlessly drive it to completion" (Jack Welch). I agree with what Jack Welch said because a leader who doesn't see a vision for their company will fail. Those who see the Vision for their company and grind for it will succeed. I picked Vision and purpose out of the other 14 qualities because in my opinion this is the make or break for a company. A leader that also has a good vision and purpose for a company will also inspire their employees to do well. A good example of Vision and purpose is when you are renovating a house or apartment. When renovating a house/apartment, you need to visualize what you want your home or apartment to look like and then buy the correct items. Someone who is a good vision for a renovation will make a house or apartment look beautiful rather than someone who doesn't have a vision and doesn't know what to look for.

Published Writing #1 - Top 15 Qualities That Make a Good Leader (2020)

In the reading, “Top 15 Qualities That Make a Good Leader”, it is clear that these fifteen qualities are necessary as well as essential in becoming a respected, effective and quality leader. This article explains that it takes nothing short of extreme hard work and dedication to ensure you become a great leader. The main purpose of this article is to go into detail about why and how these fifteen qualities are the ones you need to succeed. Leading by example is the key to having empowered and hardworking subordinates, well explained by John Maxwell, who said, “a leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way” (Hasan 1). These qualities play a vital role in being a successful leader versus a failed one. The author, Sarmad Hasan, is speaking to motivated, innovative, up and coming people who are showing potential but need this information to fully comprehend the hard work necessary, and the qualities needed to accomplish being a good leader! Good leadership is important to have a well balanced, powerful work team and success.

Two qualities that really stuck out to me that are important are emotional intelligence and transparency. I always understood leaders had a certain character and of course qualities, but these two really surprised me in the sense of never realizing their importance in a leader! Team work always makes the dream work so these two qualities really stuck out to me to achieve great things as a team. Ensuring your subordinates feel and know you are all on the same team is key. In the text it reads, .. “leaders who have this leadership quality not only handles conflict in a better way it also plays an important role in conflict resolution” (Hasan 9). Conflict and discussions happen so often in the workplace so to stay focused and resolve the issues quickly is so important to continue to have a pleasant and effective work environment. Transparency is another important quality a leader should have. “One of the best ways to win the trust of your followers is by being transparent” (Hasan 10). Having your subordinates trust you makes being a leader work. If there is no trust, you have nothing. Why would they follow you then? Or listen to you? By being transparent, you are open with your team and they will buy into your vision and support it. Their support is highly important to complete tasks and continue to be innovative.

These qualities relate to the world we live in today in such a major way. Empowering one another is becoming a movement and being able to express your feelings is also becoming more acceptable. So having emotional intelligence is such an important quality to have to make sure you communicate properly and have that understanding between each other in the workplace. I recently read an article about Elon Musk, and it explained how he released solar power roofing with the captain, “critical feedback is much appreciated” (Barisao 1). It explained how far we’ve come to be able to handle constructive criticism, which I believe really ties into emotional intelligence in the sense of caring and listening to the feelings of others. It’s only going to benefit him in making the product as perfect as possible. I think this also plays into transparency. Elon Musk is constantly open and transparent with his business moves or new ventures and perhaps why he’s remained so successful. “It gives your followers clarity, autonomy and make them feel more empowered while keeping them engaged”, this quote from Hasan is so relevant in life today and with Elon Musk’s leadership style as well.

    Published Writing #1 – 15 Leadership Qualities

Sarmad Hasan, in "Top 15 Leadership Qualities That Make Good Leaders (2020)", talks about leadership and all of the qualities that make up a great leader. While speaking directly to the reader, Hasan’s purpose is to explain that anyone can become a good leader, so as long as you have a good amount of the qualities mentioned. Good leadership is important because a leader is likely controlling a group working on a task of some sort. A leader sets a good example and provides support throughout the task for the entire task force. Leaders are everywhere and in every aspect of life.

Out of the 15 qualities Hasan mentioned, confidence is one of the utmost important qualities to have as a good leader. A leader should be confident – especially when it’s time to make a big decision. People don’t want a leader who is unsure of his/her next move. Being doubtful as a leader could create issues amongst the group – resulting in possibly not having a goal in mind. If you’re doubtful, you might be unsure of where you’re trying to go or what you’re trying to accomplish, resulting in your followers might likely not want to follow your commands. “You should be confident enough to ensure that other[s] follow your commands” (Hasan 2). Having commitment and passion is also a very important quality to have. Followers will want their leader to have personality when working on a task. Having passion and commitment on the task makes the followers feel like their leader really enjoys what they do and really wants people to succeed. If you’re dull, and you just aren’t enjoying what you’re doing, you’re likely not going to be giving it your all. Like Hasan said, “Your teams look up to you” (Hasan 4). If you want your followers to give it their all, you have to give your all. Everybody wants a leader who’s passionate about what they’re doing.

Leaders are everywhere, good and bad. Teachers/Professors are leaders, too. A lot of these qualities that Hasan mentioned are visible in some teachers that I’ve had in either public school (K-12) or even professors in college. I’ve noticed that some professors do not enjoy what they do – they’re not very passionate in what they do in their designated field. Their lectures are usually very monotone and boring, resulting in the students having a very hard time paying attention and listening to them. Being confident as a teacher is extremely important. A teacher/professor should always be sure on their next move and what to assign and teacher their students. They should understand what they’re teaching so that any student that asks a question can be answered with a confident answer. A professor who enjoys what they do and is very confident in their explanations, is a professor that everyone should have.

  14. “Top 15 Leadership Qualities That Make Good Leaders” by Sarmad Hasan is an article whose purpose is to inform what qualities great leaders have that set them apart from the rest. By quoting other people, Hassan backs up every point he makes with his list of 15 leadership characteristics. Hasan is trying to influence any person reading the article with the drive to become a strong and powerful leader. He believes that if people absorb his words they will be successful. You can tell this is his mission due to the fact that he constantly says “you” and “your” when he speaks, referring to the person reading. As stated in the article, “Irrespective of how you define a leader, he or she can prove to be a difference maker between success and failure” (Hasan 1). This statement demonstrates the importance of a good leader. A good leader can be the difference between successes and failures for companies, businesses, stores, etc since good leaders guide the path for the rest of their followers.

Vision and purpose is on the list of characteristics and I think it’s essential to a great leader. “Good business leaders create a vision, articulate the vision, passionately own the vision, and relentlessly drive it to completion.”—Jack Welch (Hasan 15). By having a clear vision and purpose, followers understand the “Big picture” and therefore, are more determined. I don't think anyone would follow a leader who doesn't have an idea of the future. Another extremely important quality in a leader is confidence. “If you are unsure about your own decisions and qualities, then your subordinates will never follow you” (Hasan 2). Decisions made without confidence are decisions we are unsure of and not proud of. It is important to have confidence as a leader in order to spread some of it around as well. A group of confident people are also hard working and dedicated.

In real life, I’ve experienced this first hand. Within a year at my current job I had excelled to higher positions while people who may have started before me remained at the constant starting position. During this time I moved from just a normal associate, to a supervisor, then to a manager. Sometimes, we all make mistakes, and I can easily say that if there is a time I'm unsure, or not confident about a decision I make then the rest of the workers are put at unease. Sometimes it’s better to push through whatever the situation is with confidence because then your followers are willing to work to succeed. This was apparent to me in a time where we did not have enough staff to work for a party, so we all had to take on extra tasks in order to move smoothly. My confidence and reassurance to my fellow workers by telling them we’d get through the party and by delegating the extra work we all had to do is a big reason why we were able to work through the situation.

  15. The article, “Top 15 Leadership Qualities That Make Good Leaders” by Sarmad Hasan is about the fifteen different qualities that Hasan believes all good leaders share. Hasan wrote this article in order to inform the readers as to which qualities can help to put them ahead in the work place, and to elaborate on these qualities. The article explains what the meaning of these traits are and how and when to use each of them, and why they make such an exceptional leader. Hasan is speaking to anyone and everyone that is reading. This can be seen as Hasan believes that anyone can transform themselves into a good leader if they embrace and incorporate each of these 15 traits into their personality. This is apparent as Hasan consistently uses words like “you” and “your.” “You have to be oozing with confidence,” and “your teams look up to you...” are two of many examples (Hasan 2, 4). Good leadership is important because a good leader can inspire people and bring them together so that they can create something far more magnificent than what they could have achieved individually.

One very important leadership quality which Hasan discussed is the ability to inspire others. Hasan explains that “when the going gets tough, [your followers] look up to you and see how you reach to the situation” (Hasan 3). This is immeasurably important because just as many of us would not likely choose to follow someone who is incapable of handling difficult situations, others would not choose to follow us if we could not do that same thing. Followers want a leader that can be incredible both in times of triumph, and in times chaos. Another exceptionally important quality for a leader that Hasan mentions would have to be creativity and innovation. With the world’s population quickly approaching eight billion, and with the internet being such a giant connecting every society around the world at all hours of the day , there are countless ideas, entrepreneurs, and leaders trying to rise up above the immense competition. Just as the quote from Steve Jobs that Hasan cited suggests, “‘ Innovation distinguishes between a leader and a follower’” (Hasan 9). A good leader needs to have ideas that are different than those that we have already seen; something that puts you apart from the rest of the competition.

Since Hasan and I just used a quote from Steve Jobs, I will continue to use him as an example of a tremendous leader here as I believe he was truly one of the most innovative entrepreneurs of the 21st century. When Apple was much younger Steve Jobs found himself in turmoil as the company decided that it would be in their best interests moving forward to remove Jobs from his position as CEO and replace him with someone else. Although this was a difficult time for Jobs, he did not give up. Instead Jobs continued to work with his passion for technology and created the first America computer animation studio which we now know as Pixar. Pixar was a great success and eventually was purchased by Apple. This landed Jobs right back on top of Apple where he once was, and where he continued to be until he tragically lost his battle with cancer. Secondly, Jobs was incredibly innovative. If not for Jobs the modern computer, cell phone, etc... would not have the beautiful typography which we see so widely today. Jobs was ahead of his time and incredibly persistent which is how he helped set the foundation for the world’s first trillion dollar company, as well as inspiring millions to follow his dreams, and their own.

In the article “Top 15 Leadership Qualities That Make Good Leaders (2020)” by Sarmad Hasan states 15 qualities that help define the difference between great leaders and good leaders. The purpose of the article was to enlighten us, the readers of what it takes to be a leader and the steps we should take to become a successful leader. Leadership is a great quality to have in life as it could be used in the workplace, in school, or even at your house.

Hasan mentions a lot of great characteristics that make up good leaders but the two that stood out the most to me was being a good communicator and resilience. Resilience is one of the most important traits to have in life because sooner or later in life you will run into a lot of difficulties that cannot be solved right away. According to the article “When the going gets tough, the tough gets going”(Hasan 11). This quote is extremely important as it reminds you that you will run into a lot of obstacles in your life and you should never let it put you down, if anything it should drive you to succeed. When leaders are working through the most difficult times while maintaining a positive attitude to find solutions, it pulls in followers that are inspired to be like you or maybe even greater.

Another great quality to have as a leader is being a good communicator. Communication is key especially in the workplace as it allows everyone to be on the same page and be productive and efficient with their assigned jobs. In the article Hasan states “If you are unable to communicate your message effectively to your team, you can never be a good leader”(Hasan 5). As a business owner/manger you always want to make sure you have good communication with your employees because it motivates them to work harder and encourage a healthy relationship with them. If you don't create an enjoyable workplace it can lead to frustration and confusion in the workplace which would just bring down company sales and lose employees.

Whilst reading the article “Top 15 Leadership Qualities That Make Good Leaders” by Sarmad Hasan, I learned the qualities that assist you in becoming an exceptional leader. This article established that even if you’re considered a leader, it doesn’t necessarily mean you’re an admirable one. Hasan proves this by listing fifteen qualities that guarantee the reader will become a leader everyone strives to be. He states “everybody defines leadership differently” (Hasan 1). In my opinion, good leadership is vital when it comes to decision making. Whether it's deciding on what to eat for dinner or simply deciding how you should promote a sale for your company. There might never be a chance to have your opinions heard if you can’t project your leadership qualities to everyone.

One quality that stuck out to me as I read was confidence. It’s evident confidence is a substantial quality in life. When you display confidence in your decisions, it will undoubtedly make you appear more powerful as a leader. It is one quality that could potentially give you the job over someone else if you present it in your interview. The article suggests that, “you should be confident enough to ensure that others follow your commands” (Hasan 3). Your subordinates are not going to respect your ideas when you’re expressing them with an unenthusiastic tone. When I had my interview for my receptionist job, I spoke with confidence about my knowledge of using Excel and Word. I pride myself in saying that was the reason I got the job.

Another quality that will undoubtedly be beneficial to becoming a charismatic leader in not only the workforce, but in life, is empathy. If you’re not empathetic of how your colleagues, bosses and customers are feeling, then you are not going to be successful. You cannot expect anyone to respect you if you can’t do the same for them in return. When there’s no reciprocity, there is not going to be anybody who wants to listen to you. ‘Understanding the problems of your followers and feeling their pain is the first step to becoming an effective leader” (Hasan 7). Hasan stresses in the article that you are not going to appear like you’re working hard enough if you don’t find solutions to make everyone in the workplace happy. My boss recently showed his empathetic side regarding one of my colleague’s problems in our workplace. She had issues with one of our colleagues and refused to work with her any longer. Instead of letting her go, my boss empathized and worked out the situation to make everyone happy.

This article is about several different qualities that leaders have that make them successful leaders. The purpose of this article is to explain why each one of the qualities of leaders are a good quality to have. The author speaks to leaders as well as followers who may want to become a leader and need somewhere to start. Good Leadership is important because it will help you achieve your goals efficiently. Without a leader there are no followers, and without followers you have no leader. Two leadership qualities that stuck out were commitment & passion and delegation & empowerment.

Commitment and passion is important because how can you have passionate followers if the leader isn’t passionate. Your followers need that push to be great just like the leader. The leader sets the tone for the group. According to Hasan, “When your teammates see you getting your hands dirty, they will also give their best shot” (3).

Delegation and empowerment are necessary for leaders to have. A leader is one person. One person cannot do everything. There are only so many hours in a day. As a leader you must ask your followers to have responsibly of their own. According to Hasan, “If you micromanage your subordinates, it will develop a lack of trust and more importantly, you will not be able to focus on important matters, as you should be” (4).

These leadership qualities relate to the real world. I work at my father’s business and I see him use most of these traits. Whenever a worker does something that isn’t 100% correct, he will flat out be honest with them and say what needs to be said. There is no benefit in hiding it, you can only make it better. This ties in with

Sarmad Hasan discusses certain characteristics that meet the caliber of a quality leader in “Top 15 Leadership Qualities That Make Good Leaders”. The author distinguishes the importance of those who head constructively from those who are careless with their authority. Information provided in this article would be beneficial for those who are interested in making their mark in the world of leadership. Having a degree simply is not enough anymore, we have to market ourselves.

“Unfortunately most leaders follow a dictatorial style and neglect empathy all together,” (Hasan 10) This was unsettling for me to read as I struggled to understand how a good leader could lack empathy. To me, being empathetic is a vital part of governing/guiding people. People will not follow someone if they feel as if their feelings are not being considered by them. Personally speaking, it is difficult for me to respect “leaders” that are clearly detached.

When Sarmad Hasan stated great leaders “... are resilient and have a positive attitude”(Hasan 11)
This reminded me of my pessimistic and neurotic manager who is incapable of seeing the bright side of any situation, ever. His negativity can be extremely contagious and discouraging. Saying things like “we are almost done” as opposed to “we are never going to get out of here” would be appreciated and less discouraging

The article “Top 15 Leadership Qualities That Make Good Leaders” by Sarmad Hasan is about the 15 leadership qualities that a great leader possesses compared to a regular leader. The purpose of this article is to show that being a good leader can make you different from the rest because if you have any of the 15 leadership qualities mentioned you can turn any situation into a successful one. The author speaks to those who are not confident in their leadership and he wants them to get out of their comfort zone and become the great leader they are meant to be. Having good leadership is important because no one will doubt you because they will see the effectiveness you have provided. “A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way”(Hasan 1). This quote explains how when a good leader knows what he or she is doing, they will show others that they know how to run their business and no one will doubt their good leadership skills.

Having confidence in yourself will make you be able to make spontaneous decisions without having doubt from others and without being afraid to commit to decisions. Confidence allows anyone to conduct meetings with enough influence and the more faith your subordinates have, the more faith they will have in the company and its mission. For example when I work as a soccer referee I always need to be confident in the decisions that I make in some fouls because then the coaches will take me seriously and not try to take advantage of me. Good communication is a good strategy to have as a leader because you will have a better understanding between each other and you’ll have the motivation to get things done efficiently. For example when I play soccer I like to have good communication with my teammates so we can fix our mistakes and try to win the soccer game.

Confidence and good communication. These characteristics are the components of one's personality that gives them the capability to successfully lead a group of people in the right direction. Having confidence allows you to make the right choices. Having good communication allows you to know what is going on at work and what needs to be done. Good communication is fairness and respect for co-workers and followers. These characteristics are what makes a leader worth following and worthy of a good leadership position.

Becoming a leader in today’s world is not an easy task. As the article states there are about 15 leadership qualities that make good leaders. John C Maxwell once stated; “A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way.” A good leader is someone who plans ahead of time and has goals. The article is speaking to people who already have these qualities in life. It is hard to acquire all of these qualities when you are an adult. These are something that you are taught at a young age and can learn at a young age. The purpose of this article is to learn about qualities of a good leader to make your mark on the world, to not only stand out from the crowd; but also lead the crowd.

Honesty and integrity are very important leadership qualities. According to Hasan, honesty and integrity is extremely significant, “how can you expect your followers to be honest when you lack these qualities yourself? Leaders succeed when they stick to their values and core beliefs and without ethics, this will not be possible”(1). There is nothing like honesty and integrity. I live by these words. I always notice such honesty and integrity from my mother. She really is the most amazing woman, who runs her company for over 30 years. If there ever is a problem and something is not done right, she has that moral uprightness and her core beliefs and values she always stands by to fix the situation no matter what. She will go back to the customer and fix the problem, or refund the customer. At the end of the day it is not always about how much money is in your pocket, but is about asking yourself if you can go to sleep knowing you did right by yourself and by others. You get further in life having honesty with yourself and others, and having that integrity in yourself.

Another important leadership quality is resilience. “When the going gets tough, the tough gets going” (Hasan 11). Hasan explains some very true statements in the article, when you have resilience you are a positive person no matter what. You push people to keep going and never give up. It is very easy to quit, but it takes resilience to keep moving on. My boyfriend is a perfect example of resilience. Everyday he gets up and goes to work. His boss is a very mean and miserable person who verbally and mentally attacks him everyday. My boyfriend Michael always stays positive because he has his own aspirations one day and knows that by being resilient and pushing hard even when times get harder his is ultimately getting one step closer to his own personal goals. He does this not only for himself, but also for me and his family. By being positive the entire shop follows in his footsteps, so that getting through the day is a little easier. No matter your circumstances you always have to rise above and see the light at the end of the tunnel that’s what makes a leader a great leader.

Top 15 Leadership Qualities That Make Good Leaders

In the article, “Top 15 Leadership Qualities That Make Good Leaders”(2020), Sarmad Hassan explains what he believes to be the most important traits a leader should possess. He is reaching out to young adults that want to become leaders themselves in the future. I believe the overall point he was trying to make is that, being a good leader is not about your list of successes, but it is how you went about achieving them. Were you ethical? Did you bring others up the ladder with you? What do your subordinates have to say about you? That is how I interpreted John C Maxwell’s definition of leadership, “A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way.” (Hassan 1)

The two most important leadership qualities to me, are Honesty and Integrity, and Emotional Intelligence. I feel this way because I’ve worked under leaders without it and everything always ends up falling apart. I’ve noticed through experience, that if a manager/boss lies to their employees about certain things, employees immediately lose respect for them. It specifically states in the article, “How can you expect your followers to be honest when you lack these qualities yourself?”(Hassan 2) Emotional intelligence is the next most important to me in a leader because I don’t think someone who can’t control their emotions in the workplace will every be taken seriously. If you’re having a bad day and come into work acting upset and taking it out on your employees, you will lose respect. Personal and professional life should be separate. Emotional intelligence “prevents negative emotions from influencing their decision making skills.”(Hassan 7)

Sarmad Hassan definitely hits all the qualities I would want in a leader. I think all 15 are important but, Integrity and Emotional intelligence are the foundation of a leader. I believe that without those two things, people lose respect for you…and then you will have no followers. The leader of an office or any organization sets the tone for anyone else who works there. You are who you associate with in business and I think everyone wants to be seen as respected and morally correct. Not everyone has what it takes to be a leader, and that’s okay, but everyone knows a good leader when they see one.

In the article, “Top 15 leadership Qualities That Make Good Leaders (2020)”, written by Sarmad Hasan, talks about the 15 qualities that separate good leaders from bad leaders. It is based off John C Maxwell’s definition of a leader which is, “A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way” (Hasan 1). The purpose for this article is explain how each one of these qualities define you as a good leader. The author audience is younger individuals who want to know what it takes to be a good leader today.

Leadership is one of those that everyone needs in their life. Good leaders inspire and push individuals to be the best version of themselves and pushes them to the next level. People look up to leaders to guide them in a certain direction or to possibly inspire them to be in their position at one point in the future. A leader motivates someone into doing something that they weren’t comfortable in doing something. In business. A person who has great leadership qualities leads to long term success for the business which promotes a positive attitude in the work environment.

The article mentions many great qualities that a leader should possess. Two of the traits that stick out to me the most are accountability and commitment/passion. Accountability is something that everyone needs to know about especially leaders. People should be accountable for something if the did something incorrectly or if they did something special, they should get rewarded/ noticed for their work. Arnold H Glasow mentioned this when it comes to accountability, “A good leader takes little more than his share of the blame and little less than hi share of the credit” (Hasan 7). Also, holding someone accountable will give that individual some responsibilities and will cause the individual to take things more seriously. On the other hand, you also want a leader who is fully committed and passionate about what he is doing. Leaders who are fully committed will encourage his/her teammates to be fully committed to there work. “When your teammates see you getting your hands dirty, they will also give their best shot. It will also help you gain the respect of your subordinates and infuse new energy in you team members” (Hasan 4). If you see your leader not giving their 110% doing their job, then it will not give you that extra boost to do your job. However, if your she your boss getting involved and putting the effort in, then it will cause you and everyone else to follow.

The article titled “Top 15 Leadership Qualities That Make Good Leaders” by Sarmad Hasan is an informational piece about the 15 qualities that make a good leader. The audience is younger individuals who want to educate themselves on what it takes to be a good leader. The purpose of this article is to help guide the readers through obstacles that may appear throughout their life.

Leadership qualities are one of the most important skills to have in life. As a good leader, there are many people who are constantly looking up to you and people that value your opinion. A good leader helps inspire others and pushes them to be their best self and put out their absolute best. As John C. Maxwell’s says “A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way” (Hassan 1). A leader is someone who knows how to handle all kinds of situations and is well educated in their field of work and can also help guide others to be as educated as them.

One quality that stood out to me was commitment and passion. As a leader, your team looks up to you for advice and guidance so “when your teammates see you getting your hands dirty, they will also give it their best shot” (5). If you are committed to your work you are bound to be more passionate and love what you do. Doing this will help you as a leader, gain respect of the people on your team. IF your team sees you going above and beyond, they will too. Another quality that stood out to me was being a good communicator. As Hassan says, “Words have the power to motivate people and make them do the unthinkable. If you use them effectively, you can also achieve better results” (6). If you can clearly communicate to your team, you can help inspire them and push them to do things they have never done before.

  27. Angel Torres ( question 1&2) EGL 310 Professor Mignano-Brady Pub #1- 15 Leadership Qualities
To summarize this article by Sarmad Hasan, it lists and explains fifth teen different leadership qualities in which he believes every good leader should have. To add on, the purpose of this article is very simple. For the purpose of the article, it is to help the readers get a better understanding of what amazing qualities each leader should pertain, in order to be considered a great leader among peers and others. Also, the author Is mostly speaking to either students studying business management or is speaking to people already in the workforce, in order for us to become a great leader one day and to successfully lead our company in the right direction, while also being viewed as a good leader by peers. Lastly, this article helps prove why good leadership is important because if a leader lacks a certain trait or skill, that most great leaders have, it may make their employees not take them seriously or they may not respect their boss as much, leading to unenthusiastic workers.
Within society today, there are a handful of significant qualities that leaders should have. After reading this article, I believe two significant qualities that every leader should have is accountability and emotional intelligence. For accountability, I believe this is important because as a leader, if you can’t take some responsibility, especially when some of the fault is on you, it is going to look bad on you when you blame your co-workers for the actions that you helped create. I also believe this is important because when some employees mess up, the boss may take the blame, which seems okay, but sometimes the employee needs to see that when they make a mistake, it won’t always be okay. Also, within the article, Hasan quotes “A good leader takes a little more than his share of the blame and little less than his share of the credit” (Hasan 4). With that quote, he basically said that a good boss still takes some of the blame. In addition to this, emotional intelligence is also important. I believe this is a good trait for a good leader because if they don’t have a good sense of emotional intelligence, a person may let the emotions of the situation get to them, leading them to think irrationally and decide on the decision based on how they feel and not based on what is right or wrong.

  28. Angel Torres ( question 3) EGL 310 Professor Mignano-Brady Pub #1- 15 Leadership Qualities
Based on the qualities I chose above, they definitely relate to the world we live in today, especially when it comes to being a good leader. For instance, let me take you back to when I used to be a cook at buffalo wild wings. So, to begin, let’s start with the characteristic of a good leader having accountability. This relates to the world today because I remember one day on my shift, my boss ended up accidently snickering an order incorrectly (which is when you put the number, type of wing, and type of sauce that is going to be for the order). After me and the other cook finished making the orders on this busy day, our boss comes screaming at us saying we don’t read and that we need to be better. As he continues to scream, the waitress walks in and asks if her order is ready. The boss on that shift simply stated “the damn cooks over here f**ked up your order”. To cut the story short, a couple of minutes later he realized he was the one that made the mistake and put the wrong sauce sticker on the paper, but he never took accountability and never told the waitress. With that being said, just like in the article, me and the other cooks from that day never gave the same respect to that manager ever again. With that being said, maybe if the manager was actually willing to be accountable for his mistakes and blaming us, me and other cooks would’ve respected him more. Furthermore, I can also relate to bosses not having emotional intelligence. For instance, one day at buffalo wild wings, it was a busy Saturday and it was a fight night, which meant we were showing the Floyd Mayweather fight vs Manny Pacquiao. So, to make it a short story, basically instead of coming on the line to help us because one cook was sick with the flu, and being shorthanded, my manager decides to start screaming stating “if you guys can’t handle this, I will just cut your hours and have you guys work on the slow days”. To me, instead of getting mad with us because it was busy, as a manager, he should’ve just at least helped or simply tried to encourage us by saying “you got this or come on guys you’re almost there, I believe in you guys”. So, with this being said, I witnessed firsthand how a manager didn’t have the qualities of accountability and emotional intelligence. This didn’t help create a work environment that was well loved and instead created an environment where some managers weren’t respected.
